What is a board?
A board is the presentation layer for analytics. You place stories (visuals) and other widgets—such as text explanations—so viewers understand what they are looking at.
Admins build calculations and stories in Manage Analytics; boards package them for consumption. Access is typically controlled by assigning the board to an Analytics Group (a segment of employees who should see it).
Example stories on a board:
Active headcount (how many active employees)
Headcount by employee type (for example, full-time vs part-time)
Average salary by age band
Before you start
Create the stories you want on the board (or plan to create them while editing).
Know which Analytics Group should get access, if you are restricting visibility.
Create or edit a board
Open Analytics → Manage Analytics (or the boards area your environment uses for presentation layouts).
Create a new board or open an existing board’s edit view.
Add stories as widgets.
Optionally add text widgets for explanations (above, below, or beside visuals).
Drag or rearrange widgets so the layout tells a clear narrative.
Assign the board to an Analytics Group when you want only that segment to see it.
Save Changes.

Analytics Groups and access
A group segments employees (for example, all managers). Put people in the group, then give the group access to the board. Members of the group can view that board.
Note: Deeper group configuration was deferred in onboarding after the boards walkthrough. Confirm group-creation UI in your environment when expanding this section.
Temporary filter on a board
Use the board’s temporary filter to explore a subset without saving a new board.
Example: Keep the same headcount and salary stories, filter temporarily to females only, and watch every visual recalculate for that population. The filter does not persist as the board’s saved definition—it is for exploration.
Drill down from board visuals
Open drill down from a number or segment to see the people behind it, validate data, and download records if needed.
