When to copy mappings

Copying mappings helps when you:

  • Add a new source that uses the same HRIS with a similar schema

  • Stand up a new project based on an existing one

  • Avoid re-mapping identical columns manually

Copy mappings at first-time setup

When you click Begin mapping configuration on a new source, choose Copy from another source instead of Setup new mappings.

  1. Log in to your Aragorn AI account.

  2. Open Data Projects and select the project with the new source.

  3. Click Begin mapping configuration.

  4. Select Copy from another source.

  5. Choose the source whose mappings you want to reuse.

  6. Review copied mappings—field names may differ between HRIS tenants or environments.

  7. Adjust any fields that do not match.

  8. Save and run Reprocess last sync or Sync new updates.

After copying, always validate:

  • Required standardized fields are mapped

  • Data types are correct

  • Sample preview values look right

  • A test sync completes successfully

If copy mappings is unavailable
