What are standard fields?

When you map a source, each HRIS column is assigned an Aragorn standardized field name and data type. These fields define the project interface that integrations read from.

  • Out-of-the-box fields — Provided by Aragorn AI for common HR concepts (first_name, last_name, etc.).

  • Custom standard fields — Created by your organization; marked with a C prefix in the UI.

When to manage standard fields

  • You created a custom field you no longer need (for example, is_married after a vendor change).

  • You want to prevent teammates from mapping to obsolete field names.

  • You are auditing which standardized fields exist before an HRIS migration.

Note: Removing a custom standard field from this list does not automatically remove it from existing mapping—you may still need to update mapping and run integrity check on connected integrations.

Manage standard fields

  1. Log in to your Aragorn AI account.

  2. Open Data Projects and select the project.

  3. Go to Source settings (or the source configuration area).

  4. Open Manage Standard Fields.

  5. Review the list of standardized fields (custom fields show a C prefix).

  6. Remove fields your organization no longer uses, or add descriptions where supported.

  7. Save changes.

  8. Update source mapping if needed, then reprocess or sync.

After cleanup

  • Run integration integrity check if integrations may reference removed fields.

  • Confirm the final dataset no longer exposes fields you intended to retire.
