Configure an integration (overview)

This guide explains the integration configuration flow in Aragorn AI—how outbound data moves from a project to a vendor system.

What is an integration?

An integration is the connection from Aragorn AI out to a vendor (payroll, benefits, equity, identity, and similar systems). A source brings HRIS data in; an integration sends prepared project data out.

Before creating an integration, complete a data project with source mapping and sync so the final dataset is ready.

Integration configuration steps

Most vendor integrations (API or file) use five steps. Taskflow integrations add a sixth step for the workflow itself.

Step

Name

Purpose

1

Data source

Select which project supplies data for this integration

2

Eligibility

Filter which records from that project belong to this integration (optional)

3

Groups

Assign records to vendor-side groups when the vendor supports it (optional; not all integrations)

4

Map data to transform

Map project standardized fields to the vendor's required format

5

Connection

Provide credentials and delivery method so Aragorn AI can send data to the vendor

6

Taskflow

(Taskflow only) Build the automated workflow that runs per record

Active vs paused integrations

On the Integrations board:

  • Active integrations — Fully configured, on a schedule, and set to auto-run.

  • Paused integrations — Configured but not ready for automatic runs (or intentionally paused).

After configuration
